There are some things that as a web developer you wish would happen more often, take the case of Andy Larholt of Montash Associates in London.
They have been a long-standing client of another firm that I co-founded in 2005, so I guess we have worked with Andy Larholt for over 5 years now. During this time he has relentlessly driven forward his company, Montash Associates, and it has grown and developed from humble beginings into a top-flight business working globally with some of the largest blue-chip organisations. And his market comprises a vastly demanding clientele so Andy understands the need to meet expectations, deadlines and budgets!
Businesses and organisations often find themselves in the process of planning a brand new website, or a replacement or amendments for an existing site. Now this article isn’t about colour schemes and fonts, it is more fundamental than that. As a professional web designer, I am often presented with the requirements of the business in terms of the pages and navigation structure that they want me to implement for them
Jan and I have been hard at work refining our mix of products and services. It has been an evolution of: What can we do? What do we want to do? How shall we do it?

Bandwidth represents the greatest factor that could stifle the adoption of Cloud storage.
We are always comparing things. Ever since we were kids we compared things. Nothing changes, even in the software industry. Windows vs Linux. PHP vs C#, MS Office vs Open Office, MS SQL vs MySQL vs Oracle. Joomla vs Drupal vs Dotnetnuke.
We are always comparing things. Ever since we were kids, we compared things. Do you remember saying, "My dad can beat-up your dad", or "My sister is prettier than your sister", or "My brother is a better rugby player than your brother". We are always comparing which is bigger, faster, lighter, smaller, etc etc.

The 'Time' magazine of web design, 'alistapart.com', recently published an article 'In Defense of Eye Candy'.
I read this and started to think it over. Whilst I tend to agree with the basic premise that people like nice looking things and maybe go as far as to say that surveys, and studies don't necessarily do justice to how biased all of us are to visually pleasing things, I also think that many people are unaware of the real reasons why they might choose design A over design B. But, I have no doubt, that when it comes to design, for the following reasons, the reality is as dubious as the results of this study.
This new specifically Pembrokeshire enterprise is my own Plan B, but what has surprised me over the last six months or so, is the number of organisations I have worked with who don't seem to have one.
