Subscribe to RSSIT problems on the horizon for local voluntary groups
Through working on a couple of local 'community' projects recently, I have encountered several people who are voicing the same concerns regarding the availibility of low-cost IT services for charity, community, and social groups. In the recent past, these sort of groups tell me they have benefitted greatly from IT services supplied through various local support portals which provided IT literacy training, web services and the like.
With commercial IT services being way beyond the financial circumstances of many groups, and goverment funding being reduced for local-authority run services, many local organisations who bring immense benefit to Pembrokeshire, are now wondering where to turn to maintain their IT facilities.
I, for one, would be happy to offer free advice and cost-only based services to groups which find themselves in such difficulties; and if other local IT professionals would like to join me in this by banding together to form an IT support group, why not get in touch through this site and perhaps we can bring real help to Pembrokeshire charities, socal groups and other organisations.
After all, they really do work hard to enhance the social fabric of our locality...
